Guardians of the Galaxy schijnt een mix van de eerste Star Wars en Raiders of the Lost Ark te zijn. Daarom is het ook niet zo heel erg raar dat de film in zijn eerste dag in Amerika 11.2 miljoen Dollar scoorde. Daarmee is het gelijk de meest succesvolle film van 2014 en ik kan je voorspellen dat dit bedrag nog veel grote gaat worden in de aankomende weken aangezien de film nog in première moet gaan in een hoop landen, waaronder Nederland.

Walt Disney Pictures and Marvel Studios' Guardians of the Galaxy opened to a massive $11.2 million last night, which is the biggest Thursday evening start for a movie in 2014! It means the James Gunn-directed adaptation is on track to surpass The Bourne Ultimatum's August opening weekend record of $69.2 million. Overseas, the $170 million-budgeted movie debuted in 42 markets, in which it grossed about $11 million on Thursday.
